In 1748-1749, William Sizemore was first found in Lunenburg, present day Halifax, Virginia along with his apparent mother Margaret Sizemore and other relatives: Edward, Ephraim, Henry and James Sizemore. He does not appear in the 1750-1753 lists. After the 1752 list, was taken, Halifax County was split off from Lunenburg County. However, William lived east of Aaron’s Cr., which kept him in Lunenburg County (in present day Mecklenburg County). He continued to appear in the tithables lists 1753-1757, 1758-1764. At that time, his home place was cut into Mecklenburg County. Unfortunately, the tithables lists for Mecklenburg County have not survived. |

23 Dec 1756. He witnessed a deed by a neighbor Henry Green in present day Mecklenburg County. On 4 Apr 1764, he purchased the 400 acres he lived on from Thomas Hamlin, of Cornwall Parish (present day Charlotte County). This land is next to Henry Green and is very close to a pioneer named William Vaughan. (The importance of that proximity to William Vaughan will become apparent later in this profile). 8 Mar 1771, he and his then wife Elizabeth sold this tract and and his then wife Elizabeth released her dower rights. On 18 Apr 1771. |

In Lunenburg County: Other tracts he owned include: _____, he laid claim on 200 acres on the west side of Wynn’s Cr. (). Then on 16 Apr 1761, he sold this land. (). He later received a formal patent for this land on 16 Sep 1765. ().; and (2) He also acquired 160 acres on Hico Cr. In Halifax County on _____ (). Then, on 18 Apr 1771, he sold this land (). |

Lastly, after the sold his long time home place, he bought 200 acres nearby, which he sold on 24 Dec 1774. His wife Elizabeth released her dower rights. This is his last record in Mecklenburg County. As he has no estate there, it is presumed he left the area. |
