Children of Peter Vaughan, Jr. With Some Spouses 1788-1860

This is an unpublished family tradition. This copied from the content of an email passed on to me [David Robertson] by a direct descendant of Asa Vaughan [Albert Asa Vaughan is the son of Asa Vaughan and the Grandson of Peter Vaughan, Jr.]:

“ ... before my GG-Grandfather, Albert Asa Vaughan’s second wife, Cornelia Doshian West died, she stated to a cousin that our Peter Vaughan[, Jr.] had 14 children and named 7 to a family member who noted as follows:

1.          Martin m. Mary Noblin

2.          Sibbie m Fannie Nobin

3.          Asa m Sarah Newton

4.          Buck m Martha Newton (2nd time) (Maybe Wm. Vaughan?)

5.          Bet m. Bob Newton (I am assuming this is Betty Louisa (Leveesie) married Robert Newton)

6.          Peggy m.

7.          Jane m. (unk) Summerville in VA.

I had in his notes also that Martin (died in Civil War) was the youngest)

...”

Note: This record is deemed reliable as the contents are substantially consistent with the census records 1820 to 1850 for Peter Vaughan, Jr. Prior to 1820, one son was already known. One more son was found from traditional research. One more son is enumerated but not identifiable in the records. One daughter was already known. After 1820, all three daughters were already known.
