Division

Benjamin Hall received a slave Harry and cash £26/4/4

James Purcell received a slave Dennis and cash £26/4/4

Mildred Hall received cash £99/11/0

See also Halifax County, Virginia Plea Book 11, Pages 16 and 28.

Note: James Purcell Was Appointed as Guardian of Mildred Hall in 1778 and Released in 1792. The above Division Indicates John Hall Had Three Children, Benjamin, ________, Wife of James Purcell, and Mildred Hall. Benjamin Hall and the Wife of James Purcell Were Much Apparently a Good Bit Older than Mildred Hall. Benjamin Hall Was an Adult by 1765, When He Witnessed Some Deeds. James Purcell Was an Adult by 1778 When He Was Appointed Guardian. Mildred Hall Was a Minor until 1787-1789. Her Guardianship Was Open for 14 Years. Accordingly, There Appears to Be a Age Spread of about 20 Years Between Benjamin and Mildred!
