ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA

CLARK FAMILY

Personal Taxes 1796 - 1809

Understanding the tax tables: The first line is the tax assessors district. Generally each county in Virginia is divided into two tax districts, which are most often designated A or B, but sometimes bears the tax assessors name which are marked herein as the Tax Assessors Initials. The A and B districts can switch from year to year and the personal tax list and the real estate tax list can differ from each other. The second line is the number of taxable polls.
