INTRODUCTION

The birth record of Margaret Flynn reveals she was born in the Brosna District, Tralee Registrar's District, County Kerry, Ireland. Her father's dwelling place was Cordal. The village of Cordal is located just east of Castleisland, which is about 11 miles east of Tralee in County Kerry Ireland. Cordal is in the Ballincuslane Civil Parish and in the Castleisland Roman Catholic Parish.

The marriage record of Jeremiah Flynn and Johanna Walsh reveal he was a widower. His father was Timothy Flynn, farmer. Her father was Richard Walsh, laborer. Patrick Walsh, probably a brother of Johanna Walsh, was a witness to the marriage.

Jeremiah Flynn , born ca ____ , died 1876? in Cordal, County Kerry, Ireland. He married 2nd Johannah (Hannah) Walsh in Castleisland Parish on Jan 28, 1875. She died after 1901.

Their children include:

1.          Margaret, born October 15, 1875 in Corda1 (3 miles east of Castleisland), County Kerry, Ireland, died May 22, 1950, in Washington, D.C., buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. She married John Stewart Robertson on January 16, 1896 in Washington, D.C.

2.          Hanora “Nora”, born 10 April 1877 in Cordal.

3.          Hannah, born 6 Feb 1880 in Cordal, married Jeremiah W. Looney (21 Jul 1904, Washington, DC).

4.          John Flynn, born 12 April 1882 in Cordal.

5.          Richard Flynn, born 30 June 1884 in Cordal.

6.          Thomas Flynn, born 28 March 1886 in Cordal.

Note: Hannah Sullivan, age 8 months, a granddaughter of Johanna Walsh, appears in the 1901 Census. (There are four Sullivan households in the Cordal East and Cordal West Townlands, Ballincuslane Parish, Kerry County Census Districts of 1901.)

TIMOTHY FLYNN and MARGARET (HANNAH) KELLEHER

Timothy Flynn married Margaret (Hannah) Kelleher on February 19, 1833. Timothy Flynn was a farmer. A Margaret Flynn was alive in the 1901 census, but listed her age as 81. She was probably a few years older. Their children include:

1.          John, baptized December 5, 1833. John married Mary Kelleher (b. ca 1848) on January 26, 1866. Their children include:

             a.          John, born November 18, 1867, baptized the same day.

             b.          Hannah, baptized June 16, 1872.

             c.          __________ m. Reid. Her daughter Madeline Reid was born ca 1897 in America, but resided with her grandparents in 1901.

             d.          Norah, b ca 1882.

2.          Jeremiah married Johanna Walsh on January 28, 1875.

3.          Mary, born ca 1850, married_____ Eager. [This may be Mary Latch widow of William Eager.] Their children include:

             a.          Margaret, born ca 1885.

             b.          Ellen, born ca 1887.

             c.          Florence, born ca 1889.

             d.          Norah, born ca 1891.

             e.          William, born ca 1893.
