All three parishes in the above table were part of original Burke and Effingham Counties, formed in 1777, which covered a much larger area than they do today. By 1796 the Ogeechee River ran through five counties in the area being researched. As of this printing, no research has been competed in the colonial or revolutionary War periods, except for the land grants in the preceding and following tables. Headright and Bounty Grants show numerous Dickson's getting land in Washington County after 1784, but no Josias or Henry.
