Warren County was created in late 1793 after the above tax digest. District OO became a part of Warren County. Hancock County was created in late 1793 from Washington Co. after the above tax digest. Jacob Duckworth had 200 acres in Hancock Co. starting in 1794. It appears that he may have been previously taxed in Wilkes Co. even though the land was technically in Washington Co. |

See Frank Parker Hudson, Wilkes County, Georgia Tax Records, 1785-1805, (2 Volumes). Frank Parker Hudson's compilation is an incredible resource for this time period. The district letters are as assigned by him in his book. The numbers are also assigned by him, numbering each person in sequence as that person appears in the tax digest. |
