1795 JEREMIAH HALL and SARAH PICKENS witnessed a quitclaim deed for the sale of a slave from the heirs of ELIAS DEGERNETT (BARTLEY TUCKER, NANCY DEGERNETT, REUBEN DEGERNET and MAXFIELD KENNEDY). Pendleton County, South Carolina Deed Book A, Page 87-88, recorded 22 June, 1795.
NOTE: SARAH PICKENS was the widow of ELIAS DEJARNETT, having remarried ISRAEL PICKENS. She was the sister of FENTON HALL, NATHANIEL HALL and JOHN HALL.
NOTE: The children of FENTON HALL and JOHN HALL are accounted for. JEREMIAH HALL is most likely the son of NATHANIEL HALL or ROBERT HALL (probably another brother of SARAH HALL PICKENS). If JEREMIAH HALL were engaged to NANCY DEJARNETTE (his first cousin), he would be an ideal witness so he could not later object to the loss of his expectancy to the part interest in the slave sold.

1799 JEREMIAH HALL bought from AULDIN TUCKER 200 acres on Vineyard Creek in Elbert (now Madison) County, Georgia. Elbert County, Georgia Deed Book N, Page 201. The land was previously owned by JONATHAN VINEYARD in 1795 (Elbert County, Georgia Deed Book C, Page 39). There is no deed on record from JONATHAN VINEYARD to AULDIN TUCKER. This land remained in JEREMIAH HALL's estate until after his widow NANCY died at which time (the 1st Tuesday in November 1855) his son JOHN HALL bought the 200 acres from his estate. (Madison County, Georgia Sale Bill Book D, Page 507).

Georgia Sale Bill Book D, Page 507. ROSANNA HALL and SARAH E. HALL sold
another portion of JEREMIAH HALL'S land on 21 December, 1880. (ROSANNAH
HALL appears to be the widow of ISAAC S. HALL, a son of JOHN HALL. SARAH E.
HALL is the daughter of ROSANNAH HALL.) Madison County, Georgia Deed Book
M, Page 56. No deed for the third portion of approximately 48 acres has been located.
Calculations from deeds at Deed Book K, Page 132 and Deed Book M, Page 56 show that
the original grant was in fact approximately 262.5 acres and not 200 acres.
