James Henry Bruce, Jr. was the son of James Henry Bruce, Sr. and Mary E. King

Perlina Keziah Vaughan was the dau. of William Vaughan and Perlina Keziah David

Their children were:

Agatha Winston Bruce, b. 19 Sep 1871

William Henry Bruce, b. 28 Aug 1873 (married two times - no children)

Adora Ellis Bruce, b. 7 Sep 1875

Minerva Elizabeth Bruce, b. 7 Mar 1877 (married three times - no children)

Their farm was at the mouth of Holly Creek on the N. Broad R. which she had inherited from her father William Vaughan. See Deed and Plat Madison Co., Ga. Deed Book T, p. 474.

From family tradition, besides farming, Henry pulled teeth, was a blacksmith and built chimneys. His dau. Elizabeth “Lizzie”s first husband borrowed money from Henry to buy medical tools. He got heavily in debt and left for war. Henry “repossessed” his medical tools and decided to pull teeth.

Another story is that he dug his own grave. When Perlina d. he had to blast rock to dig her grave. He decided he might as well go ahead and dig his own while he was at it.
