On October 2, 1839, ISAAC DAVID made his will in Madison County, Georgia naming the following children:

The Will was recorded May 11, 1840, Madison County, Georgia Will Book A, page 113. Some confusion has resulted from the wording in Item 8 "..... appoint my son BERRY M. DAVID & ALEXANDER VAUGHAN Executors..." BERRY M. DAVID is quite certainly a grandson and not a son of ISAAC DAVID. A review of the original will on file in the Georgia Archives showed that another name once appeared after "son" and it was erased and BERRY M. added in its place. ISAAC apparently had named JACOB W. DAVID as executor and later changed his mind, realizing JACOB had left the area.

Note: In Item Four of his will Isaac David divided a portion of his estate into 17 parts: 10 parts to each of his children and 7 parts to each of the children of his wife Susannah. He made a separate bequest elsewhere to his 10 children. The end result was that, in addition to any specific bequest, each of his children received about $612 from his estate; and each of children of his wife Susannah received about $520 from his estate.

1840 ISAAC DAVID died at his residence in Madison County, Georgia. The Christian Index, July, 1840. A tombstone with the year 1840 marks his purported grave at Lystra Church, Madison County, Georgia. This location of his grave is clearly in error.

1840 ISAAC DAVID'S obituary appears in the minutes of Millstone Baptist Church of Christ, Oglethorpe County, Georgia, as follows:

"Departed this life on the 17th April 1840 our beloved Brother & Deacon ISAAC DAVID in the 83rd year of his age Mial Smith, Clerk"

A tombstone with the year 1840 marks his purported grave at Lystra Church, Madison County, Georgia. This location of his grave is clearly in error as he was a member of Millstone Baptist Church of Christ, Oglethorpe County, Georgia many miles away.

The Annual Returns of the Estate of Isaac David are superb in proving absolutely the descendants of Isaac David. Some smaller distributions were made to various heirs that have not been abstracted in this summary.
