Note: Lot 466 is just south of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Brooks Co., GA. It is adjacent to Lot 467 which was purchased ca 1836-1838 by James Newton. Lot 467 is adjacent to Lot 454 which was purchased ca 1836-1838 by William Newton. James and William were sons of Isaac Newton and Elizabeth Alderman, Isaac being the son of George Newton. Rachel Newton gave the 200 acres in Lot 466, 12th District, Lowndes Co., GA to her son, Isaac James Newton, reserving a life estate for herself and profits until her youngest daughter Jinsey shall be 18. Brooks Co., GA Deed Book C, p. 375. Note: Perhaps Rachel was pregnant with Martha Elizabeth (who appears to be illegitimate) and wished to favor her legitimate children.
